Well I finally decided to repair the rattle on my 98 Electra gluide. One part got real lucky as it already had adjustable push rods. Anyhow, I can not seem to find my repair manual, and was wondering if anyone can help with the cam timing marks. Need a picture of the cam crank and other gear on how to line them up.
It's very straightforward - there are 2 marks (dot or line) on the cam, one on the pinion gear and one on the breather gear.
Turn the engine until the pinion gear mark is at 12 o'clock then insert the cam, lining up the mark. The other mark on the cam should be about 8 o'clock position, then insert breather into its bore with the mark lining up with the mark on the cam. You might need to rotate the engine slightly backward about 10 degrees or so to be certain it's right with the breather. (some are hard to see and don't look correct when actually they are timed correctly)
