Default How Many Hours to Dyno Tune a TTS?

Yanked the T-Max. How many hours can I expect local shop to charge for dyno tune of the TTS?

To do it right around 4-6 hours. Most dyno tuners charge a flat rate around 300 bucks. Better make sure the guy you choose, knows what he's doing and actually develops a custom map for your bike

Huh. Local shop books them for 2 hours slots. Shop across the bay says it takes all day.
Don't get it. What should the $ charge be?

If you don't do any tuning before taking it to the dyno it could take quite a few hrs if it's way out of tune.

Tuning? Not sure what you mean. I removed the T-Max, reinstalled the stock ECM and picked a map in the TTS manual that was closest to my build just so the bike was capable of going from home to the dyno shop. Are you referring to the section in the TTS manual where they want you to ride the bike with a laptop taped to the seat? That seemed ridiculous to me.

Depending on the state of tune of the engine, the fuel management system and the skill of the tuner, it could easily take 30 to 50 dyno pulls to dial in the tune. 4-6 hours is a bit conservative but most good tuners will tell you to plan on leaving the bike overnight just in case they get a stubborn one that takes more than a half day.

Basically all day. Even if the tune is close, there's no way to know how close it is until the cells are sampled. A tune that doesn't require major changes and a lot of resampling after changes are made will take roughly 6 hours in my shop.

Researching the actual tuner is the most important thing. If someone is booking tunes 2 hours apart, they are just installin canned maps and not developing a custome map for your bike. I would guess that that's what the majority of them do.

My tuner took all day with mine. Once he gets it where he wants it, he lets it completly cool down and tweeks it a bit more
