1550cc = 95ci; 3.875" bore x 4.00" stroke; stroker dimension is needed to go further. If stroke is 4.375", engine is 103ci. If stroke is 4.625", engine is 110ci.

Hello old chap and welcome to HDF.

Are you saying you didn't get any service record with your bike?! Do you have any other clues? Because what you describe doesn't compute. It is common to increase the bore of a TC88, which converts it to a 95" or 1550cc and there is an SE kit to do this, which comes with upgraded cams, stronger clutch spring and air cleaner.

However any stroker kit will require different pistons, to allow for the different stroke. You can't have an SE 95" kit AND a stroker kit! Well you could, but if your engine has been stroked it will need a different set of pistons.

If you register your bike on Harley's website (under 'Owners') you will find what your bike started out life as, also you can download an owners manual. You could also talk to your local dealer, to see if they have any service history for your bike. If it was converted by a dealer, that should be recorded.

Hope that helps a bit. Let us know what you find out.

So looks like they did stroker and pistons, need to know the stroke as djl said. Dealer should be able to tell you.

Thumbs up

Hi Andy, that sounds like entirely Harley stuff. Most likely the crank is the same stroke as a TC96, which along with the 1550 cylinders will give you a 103", as djl suggested. The longer stroke crank is getting into more serious and expensive territory!

So your engine most likely has 3.875" bores and 4.375" stroke, giving 1,691cc. Along with the cylinder heads it sounds as if you have the equivalent of a stage 4 SE kit. Should go like a rocket!
