Still wrestling to keep this bike running. 95% complete on the transmission rebuild to replace the kicker gear, real PITA. New coil on hand to be installed to get a better spark then we start her up again and see what else wants to go bad!?!?! I think I have a vacuum leak in the carb, I know the manifold is tight. Rebuild kit on hand, need to get her running again to test for a vacuum leak, then carb rebuild. So much for Memorial Day weekend, just giving me time off from one job to go to another job.

Race of Gentlemen in Wildwood NJ is Friday, one week to get her running proper for some 1/8 mile blasts down the sand. Hoping to not be wrenching on the sand.

Fingers crossed.

Race of Gentlemen is behind us, what a great event!!! We had a great time all weekend from the chopper show on Friday night then two days of 1/8 mile drags on the sand. Weather was excellent, though a lot of sun, not a bad thing. A couple of pics:

Friend from Canada and myself at the line, cool shot I think:

Another buddy on the Indian pulling away from the line, he had me out of the hole but I ran him down at the big end, good fun beating Indians, just like the old days:

My understanding is that GI's returning after the war ended in 45' would pick up surplus government bikes and chop off the fenders and other parts deemed not needed giving birth to the term "chopper".

You've got one hell of one.
