question for those who know.
Been riding my 47 wl for five years now and loving it.
today when I took her out I noticed what appeared to be smoke or steam coming out of the oil tank, the temp out side was 67-71 degrees so not that cold out.
So what is up, been driving it for years and never notice that ever happening.
You saw this when opening the oil tank on a hot bike, or it was coming out around the oil tank cap?
When riding my bike, if I take off the oil tank cap at a red light, smoke/steam is always there. Good sign that the system is recirculating the oil back to the tank.
If I saw the same smoke/steam outside the cap, I would think maybe the cap gasket was shot and find a replacement. Good luck.
I noticed the smoke/ steam pretty much After the bike warmed up.
saw it coming out around the cap before I took it off.
If I tighten it down tighter it stops, so yes it most likely is a warn gasket at the cap, just want to make sure this is normal.
