OK, here's the problem I've had for years at this forum. It seems to happen here more frequently than elsewhere.
I am typing a reply to a post...look up at the screen...and all, or part, of the typing has disappeared. I have no idea why or how it happened. It really has gotten to the point of being ridiculous. Does anybody else have this problem? I have got to be hitting some wrong key when typing but I have no idea which one. It seems to happen sometimes when I hit the "period" key.
BTW, I am on an HP laptop with Windows Home 64 bit system.
It does it to me on my phone, saprised it does it on a lap top. It can be a pain for sure. For me I have a half inch window of words seen and sometimes that gets less do to the top banner taking over. Then I have to get the key pad off the screen & move everything to get words back. That banner that pulls down is more of a pain than it is helpful.
Does your laptop have a touchpad in the middle of the palm rests under the space bar?
I did this for a while (a LONG while ago) before I realized the heat of my hands was causing the touchpad to highlight some of the text. Thinking I was trying to highlight the text, then as soon as I typed another character, it deleted the highlighted text and replaced that with the deleted.
I had to turn off the touchpad and use a mouse to quit doing that.
Just for grins and giggles, try using a mouse with the touchpad turned off for a week or so and see if you have the same issue.

Thanks Dan. I thought I had turned off the touchpad, but maybe something turned it back on with an update or so. I'll recheck it>
Moved to Forum Issues because that's where it belongs!

That is where I specifically DIDN'T want it go. Now nobody will see it!
Could you not just leave it here for at least a day to see if I could get some help with this issue. You read it, moved it, and didn't at least reply with some help on it? Thanks a lot! Geez!
I don't think it's forum issue at all anyway. It 's just one of those things that may happen due to not understanding what may be happening on the computer. THat doesn't need to be stuck away in a FORUM ISSUES section when it isn't a forum issue at all.
It does NOT belong in Touring!! Let us decide where a thread belongs. It does not sound like a problem with HD Forums. Nothing I've ever heard of or experienced. Check your computer for updates and clear your cookies.

I ALWAYS use a mouse. LOL!! I have tried to make myself use the Touchpad and just can't do it without extreme frustration. I guess I'm not the only one with the problem. So I have two alternatives: 1. Put up with it 2. Use Word and copy and Paste.
ADMIN suggested "clearing my cookies". That's a favorite answer to many questions and issues here I guess.
