Default Access Denied

Has anyone seen this error before? It comes up on my laptop. My home PC, a desktop, has no issues getting into the forum.

What forum sub are you trying to access when you get the error? Off Topic, POD, etc...?

I get that frequently. If I send my VPN through another country, Canada, Mexico, Bahamas, I can get to the forums, then once I'm in I can switch back to US and it works fine for a few days. Then it's rinse and repeat.

I can't get into the forum at all. And it's not just this one.

I can't turn off the VPN (as someone above suggested). The laptop in question is for, ahem, not home related. This is a recent change. I had no problems before.

So sadly, I can't keep up with the forum during the day. Did I mention I can't wait to retire?

Just use your phone. But don't get caught or you might be retiring sooner than you think.

PS, that suggestion was from the manager of this system. Now he didn't know the big picture yet when he said that.

I saw mention of USERs issues with VPN long ago on here. Big brother is watching you.

Company phone, no personal cell - I'm doomed!

I can relate.
I pi$$ed off the wrong people and have had my access blocked to the point that every time I try to even go into a different part of the forum where I am allowed I have to log back in, which is as bad if not worse than being banned.
I am NOT even allowed in the off topic forum, nor any of the other related forums to it.
My access is extremely limited, which I guess is how the admin wants it?

If it's not your personal PC, then maybe your network administrator has blocked it? Our school district IT department is always blocking video games that the kids get to, but it's a never ending battle. There's an even more draconian app called "Go Guardian" where teachers can block their classes from web use, even remotely. I had to log into another teacher's class one day, and for the next couple weeks I was intermittently blocked by "Go Guardian" until I figured out I was linked to that teachers Go Guardian app even though I was no longer signed into her Google Classroom.

I find that a bit hard to understand, but even though it's a publicly available website, it is privately owned, so they can do pretty much whatever they want. There are no constitutional rights to free speech on a privately owned platform.

I'm not even sure what level of administration you need to block individuals. I can't see any reason for blocking anyone on the POD forum, that's what it's there for. Good luck in resolving your issue.

Unless you are threatening people with violence, which a whole different issue. And, hopefully no one here ever does that.
