When I open a recent post, it shows the time and dates, but they are all old or most of them anyway. Do I have a setting wrong? Some of the new posts have only very old dates. It is likely user error.

If you click on a thread that is old that someone has recently brought back from the dead then, yes, the posts in it are probably old.

Here’s a good example:

https://www.hdforums.com/forum/touri...-mufflers.html

You can see the new post at the very end of the thread that brought the thread back to life.

I'm not sure if you just clicked on an old thread or you happen to see the old posts at the top.

When you open a thread, you have the option of displaying the oldest posts first or the newest posts first... your choice.

For the setting:
1. Click the Gear Icon in the upper right to get to your "User Control Panel" or click your avatar or screen name in the upper right and select "User Control Panel"
2. In the very left column, scroll down and click on "Edit Options"
3, In the large column in the center, scroll down 4 boxes to "Thread Display Options"
4. Make your selection in the "Thread Display Mode" box
5. Lastly, scroll to the very bottom and click on "Save Changes" <---- VERY IMPORTANT
