no email notifications
I've gone into my CP many times in order to enable email notifications when a new post appears in a thread. Checked all the appropriate boxes as far as I know. Nothing seems to work. Even PM'd 2 admins and didn't get an answer, so maybe my PM isn't working either or nobody has the solution. If anyone knows how to fix it just let me know by both PM and email so I have a better chance at getting it. Thanks in advance.
What Admin's did you pm? There is a link posted at the top of the General Chat that should help you until we get the problem fixed. We are working on it.

Terry- You and Grover were the ones I PM'd. This was about 2+ weeks ago. I thought something might be up so I posted in this forum. Thanks for the link, I have seen it but I may have to enlist the help of my son to figure it out. At least I know it's an issue that it is being worked on, but I'm still concerned that there might be a problem with my PM.
Here is a solution if you are not receiving automatic email notification of new replies to that thread you are subscribed to.
First, confirm that the following setting in "UserCP" - "Edit Options" are set this way. Some may be optional but start with these.
Login & Privacy
Uncheck: Use Invisible Mode
Uncheck: Allow vCard Download
Messaging & Notification
check: Receive Email from Administrators
Check: Receive Email from Other Members
Check: Receive Friendship Request Email
Default Thread Subscription Mode
Select: Instant email notification
Private Messaging - Optional
Check: Enable Private Messaging
Uncheck: Receive Private Messages only from Contacts and Moderators
Check: Show New Private Message Notification Pop-up
Visitor Messaging
Check: Enable Visitor Messaging
Uncheck: Limit usage of Visitor Messages to Contacts and Moderators
Miscellaneous Options
Message Editor Interface - Select
Enhanced Interface - Full WYSIWYG (What you see is what you get) Editing
You will also have the choice on setting a "Notification Type" in "Additional Options" with replying to a post.
If you are still unable to get email notifications then it's a good chance your ISP (Comcast.net for example) is blocking the Gmail address HDF is using.
If you have another email account setup try it first.
The following are known to work.
Gmail.com
Yahoo.com
MSN.com
A Gmail account can also be setup to forward mail to an another email account automatically. This may be the easiest way to set it up.
A Gmail account can also be setup as a POP or IMAP client and email can be accessed through several email applications including MS Outlook and Outlook Express. Oh, and it is free.

Bertk-
I set up a Gmail account and already have received an email that was also forwarded to my Outlook Express. This appears like it is working now and I will keep an eye on it. I also made the changes to my CP as suggested above, but the email address there is now Gmail so I don't know if it would work directly with Outlook, but I am done playing with it for now.
Thanks very much for the help!!!!

Yes, you will want to have the new gmail account address in the CP - Edit Email & Password. In the new gmail account should be forwarded to an existing account in OL. There no need to setup a pop3 account in OL, unless you want to.
In the gmail - Settings - Forwarding and POP/IMAP select "delete Gmail's copy". You will have to visit the gmail account and empty the Trash once and awhile and that's it.
I have set up a gmail account. Pleas respond to the post so I can test the settings
Thanks for the help
