Recent Post settings

I know that the default setting on the forums shows threads from the last day, and you can change it as you wish, but everytime you enter the site, you must change it again. Is there a way that I haven't found to set it for a longer period of time (1 week) and not have to change it everytime I visit?

I guess that the fact I have had no answer to the question, must mean that it can't be done. That or no one has figured out a way to do it.
