Default Forum Speed/And Errors??

Why is this forum always the absolute slowest thing on the internet?

I know there are a lot of users, but I go to other forums with as many or more users and they are quick.

Also........

Why is there always a yellow triangle with exclamation mark in the lower left corner, which means "page done but with errors"?

I have a brand new laptop, with the latest versions of IE installed........and always get that with this forum only.

Just curious.

Check to see if your new laptop has the latest version of Java installed and your IE settings in the security and privacy tabs are set to medium.

Switch to FireFox, IMO IE sucks for forums. I'm on enough of them and use FF all the time. I keep getting that dreaded triangle if I use IE.

+1

Still may want to check your Java again just to be sure. IE is sensitive to that.

Ghostery add on helps with FF also.

I just downloaded the newest Java from Java, installed it again, and this is still the absolute slowest site on the internet.

I used Firefox on my old laptop, and this was still the slowest site around.

I'm on this forum off and on all day and night and I run Firefox (IE Sucks). Except for some minor slowness during a recent upgrade it's fast as lightning for me and I ain't got nothing special. I run a Dell Notebook. I'm just not getting that many complaints.

No problems here with firefox, chrome, IE8, Safari, or Maxthon. I tend to use them all depending on which computer I am using at the time.

No problems here either Terry. I run through about 5 different forums on a regular basis and they're all smf. This one runs just as smooth as them. Pretty fast too.

One thing I did do was change the number of replies shown per page and that helped out a bit also.
