Thumbs down Closed Thread?

Just wondering why a moderator would close a thread? This is an open forum and we are allowed to debate and talk about any subject correct? Just curious!

Negative. This is a benevolent dictatorship. Maybe check out the rules. Particularly Nos. 15 and 17. https://www.hdforums.com/forum/forum...ml#post5613536

First off since this is a Forum issue, this thread has been moved there.

A thread can be closed for a number of reasons:

1. Discussing topics that are not allowed such as politics or religion.

2. The thread is bashing LEOs, 1% clubs etc.

3. The thread has profanity images not allowed on HD forums.

4. There are already threads on that same subject. No need to have a dozen threads on one subject. It clogs up the forums. We ask people to look around before posting their thread to see if there are already threads on the subject and join in that discussion before posting a new one.

5. The subject has been beat to death or is turning into a pissing match.

These are the most common reasons for locking a thread. I don't know what you think Open Forum means, but there is no right to free speech here. This forum is privately owned and run. The owners have the right to decide what is and isn't appropriate.
