Suspension options????
Hey folks,
Looking at some upgrades for my 16 SGS and among them is a way to get it through the corners just a little bit quicker with a little better feel. Already did the True-Trac system, which I like, but now I'm looking at the suspension.
Seems like the most often talked about replacements for the stock shocks are Ohlins, Progressive, and Legends. I can't find much though that directly compares the three.
Anyone have the ability to talk about how these are different and which they would prefer?

First thing is remember your 12" shock will be harsh for touring. Just not enough shock travel. I have had both Progressive front and rear and now on Legends . The legends are far I mean way better than Progressive. What ever you buy make sure it's a two way adjust shock and read about preload and rebound . Hope this helps.

HDF is stuffed full of threads on suspension, especially shocks! It would probably take a lifetime to check through them all. Many members seem prepared to spend a lot of money and waste a lot of time chasing lots of cheap shocks - and never being happy. The brand that came out tops when I was keen to buy new ones is Ohlins and I also have their fork cartridges - a one-stop shop! Contact Howard at HDF sponsor Motorcycle Metal and never look back....
