Gonna do some major mods to my 1999 Fatboy this year. One of which is to go with a slightly larger rear tire on the back. I have a 130 back there now. From what I understand I can probably go up one size (140) without any trouble, two sizes (150) by grinding the lips off of the fenders and possibly trimming the belt guard(s).

First off, can anyone verify this info.?

Second, can I go bigger by going chain drive and different fender?

I plan on going with a completely different fender anyway.

I do know they make kits out there to run 200+ rear tires on Softails, but I don't want to spend $2500 on this project and I'm not really a fan of big tire bikes. I just want something that'll look good once I bob the rear fender.
