Default Speedo
Recently got a 1984 FXRP It has a mechanical speedo mounted on bars. I want to put taller risers on it. can I get a longer cable or is there a way to put a newer electronic speedo on it?

You can get a longer cable. You need a late style transmission with a speed sensor built into it to be able to run an electronic speedometer.

I got a longer cable from FXR Division, and a new wheel “sensor?” for my 19” wheel from Dennis Kirk.

You can buy a Auto Meter or other high quality speedo and put a GPS sensor on it . Works great and very accurate

I put 8" risers on my 1991 Sporty with a mechanical speedo, the cable reached no problem.
