99 harley fxr speedometer installation????
what is needed. I would like to install a electronic speedo in my bike. What all do I need. I have the big bob gas tank and it will use the 3 3/4" speedo. So what does everyone have or use.

Dakota Digital can supply you wth a piece that converts your drive cable to electronic or they can supply a pickup and a digital speedo, etc also. Check them out on line. Hope this helps.

I believe that in 96 they started drilling the trans case for the pick up for the speedo. A friend has a 95 Bad Boy and he had to drill the hole out in the case and put in the pickup and it worked fine after he bought a recalibrater for the speedometer. You may just need to update to an electronic speedo and buy the pick up and wiring to get to the speedometer. Check you transmission case to see if the hole is there and has a plug in it.

My 99 Hugger is two wires, and not cable. It is electronic. It has push button LCD readout. One wire goes to the Trans. I can't believe Dakota Digital won't be able to help you fix your problem. Call em, and they should be able to make you happy.
