I cut the back yard today. After I was done, and out of the pool, heat index was 107. Taking the bike out today never crossed my mind. Not once.
Another month my riding season will start
This time of year in Florida I like to ride in the mornings before it gets in the 90's. This morning we were back home by 9:30. We took a pass on going to Stormy Hill Harley to get some work done at the house. So for me it's the 90's but I will ride if I have to.
Who rides in open-face helmets like this, how do you feel in this heat? Face is open and gets much air, but head does not have any vents. Sweating much under helmet or not?
I almost bought something like this one yesterday, but suddenly this question popped up
Now riding in FF with visor removed.
It's a balmy 113 right now in my L.A. suburb. No, I ain't riding!
EDIT: 115 Now!
Yup-
It’s gonna be 117 in Woodland Hills, SFV today and yesterday.
Where are all the “big *****, tough guys” who will ride in this? Crickets......
Its not just the immediate temps over 110 around you....where are you gonna go? Van Nuys heading East? Nope 116 there. West? Hell no, 112 in Calabasas. South to LA? 105 degrees.....How about a road trip out of town? Palm Springs 118, and Lake Tahoe 120? Phoenix and Vegas the same.
OK, maybe a trip to the beach where it’s only 90-95? Guess what? You gotta go home....110 is waiting as you get over the mountains.

Yep. And add to that the smoke in the air from all the fires. I'm an early riser and pondered getting out for a quick putt this AM but really don't want to be breathing the crappy air we have at the moment...well, let's face it, it's always crappy air here, but crappier these days. So taking a pass again.
