Question lightweight helmet (and goggles)?

looking for a recommendation / suggestions .... been riding for coming up to 30 years now, and always had either full-face or 3/4 helmet with built in visors. lots of protection, nice and warm in the Pacific Northwest Fall/Winter/Spring months but ... heavy.

had surgery on my spine a couple of months ago, and got cleared this week finally venture out of the house again, but while I can drive with okay levels of pain I tried my current 3/4 helmet on this morning and... that's not going to fly for a while I suspect.

so... looking for suggestions for a (DOT/SNELL approved) helmet that's as light as possible and because I wear glasses if it's not got a visor then good goggles that won't fog up, have good peripheral vision and are comfortable over glasses.

My last few helmets have all been hjc and they are on the lighter side also so comfortable that I tend to forget it's on but Your best bet is going to a bike shop and trying as many as possible on, I've found the Japanese and European dealers have way better selections of helmets. Also if there's a cycle gear in your area they also have mucho helmets in stock just stay away from there lower end in house brands (bilt and sedici)

unfortunately be prepared to spend because it seems the lighter the helmet the more it costs, I don't understand how they can justify $700+ for some of these new full face helmets.

The lightest brand of FF/DOT/SNELL helmet I know of is made by Soumy.

Smallest DOT half helmet around. Like wearing a baseball hat. I don't think Snell approves anything that's not a fullface (I could be wrong.)

I suggest ballistic glasses, if I recall Wiley X makes ones you can put prescription lens in.

Carbon fiber is the answer. I picked up a bell bullit carbon model and was shocked how light it was. Wiley X glasses generally have a prescription ready option for most frames. Sorry I'm no help with goggles.

I really like the Harley-Davidson ultra-light half helmets. I have one with an American flag on it. I rarely ever wear my other half helmets any more as they are too heavy. I also like my Halcyon Mk49 goggles. They're retro looking - which I appreciate.

the Halcyon goggles look awesome, but I'm guessing not suitable for wearing over glasses? the only ones on their site that specify OTG are the Bobster brand (sadly not the brass and leather construction!)
