So again things got interesting on my daily commute. 50 miles one way from San Diego to Pine Valley. If you listen close the woman and the beginning is warning me of oil. This was a problem. My tires were so coated that I started going sideways right after the video ended. I had planned for this so easily recovered but jeez it was scary. My pegs and boots were also coated and I had to do the last 30 miles supporting my right leg by pure strength as the wind kept pushing me off. I did pull over and wipe it all down and it did help. Just not enough!!

If you look close at the video, there's at least seven damaged vehicles including the big rig. And there is a woman in a pink dress tending to another injured woman on the right. Something was messed up with her leg.

I would have ridden past that on the shoulder. No way in h8ll I would have run my tires thru anything on the road as a result of a crash.

I am sure everyone would agree but we were not there. Hindsight is always 20 20.

What shoulder? He's got wrecked cars on both sides and in the road. Talk about having your ***** in a vice, that scenario is a good example.

Yep, ride around road hazards, not through it.
So what happened, truck engine blew up and dumped oil causing others to skid and crash?
Or did truck crash, blowing oil lines and oil caused other crashes?
"CHP, have rotation bring a lot of speedy dry"
This would also be a Caltrans callout with a full freeway closure..aka Sigalert.

No available shoulder. Four damaged vehicles on the left, and on the right there is the injured woman. There MAY have been enough room on the right, but I don't think so.

Plus oil was EVERYWHERE including the right shoulder

Camera is chest mounted so you can't see what I saw when I looked right, but it was bad over there as well.

I don't know yet. I was there moments after it happened and haven't followed up to see if they posted. I know it took them 3 hours to reopen the freeway fully

Agree.

There MAY have been room between the cars on the left and the vehicle that is in contact with the big rig. But there is a ton of glass and debris over there as there is actually a fourth vehicle on the left shoulder that got gotten pretty damn destroyed. At the beginning of the video you can just see the front of another truck in front of the farthest truck that you can easily see. Then right before I pass the big rig you can just make out the bed of it.

Based on the video, it looked like the rider tried to stay in the debris field as long as possible.
