I live in St. Louis. Old Route 66 cuts right through south city (it's now Chippewa/Watson Road). Stop at Ted Drewe's Frozen Custard on Watson if you come through the city.

I'll second that, I live about 4 hours down the road, you couldn't pay me to drive through East St Louis yet alone stop there.

East St Louis Illinois.

Washington Park, etc.

Yea, the sights over there are probably not what you'd like to see.

About 10 years ago I drove 66 end to end & found the MO section very enjoyable. At that time it wasn't well marked & difficult to follow without a gps but well worth the effort. You'll enjoy it much more if you get some guide books so you'll know what you're looking at.
