Default Purge Fuel Pressure

I've got a 2017 Road King that I'm wanting to take the tank off . Manuel says to relieve fuel pressure remove Gray connector on top of batt. comp. . In which there should be one black and one gray . I've only got one black connector in which shuts off my console and switches . Any idea where i can turn off fuel pump ?
Thanks

Pull the fuse in the fuse box and key on to see if you got it. Then start it and let it die. The fuse should be identified in the service manual or on the fuse box cover.

As you have a canbus model, you'll probably not have a fuel pump fuse as the BCM controls fuel pump power.
If you remove the tank/speedo console you'll see a connector for your fuel pump. disconnect this, then turn your ignition on and start the bike.
The engine will likely run for a second or two and then splutter and die. This will purge the fuel pressure sufficiently for you to remove the quick connect fuel line safely.

Thanks yeah no fuel pump fuse. So I'll pull the console and disconnect there. You'd the the Manuel would have that .

the first time i removed my fuel tank, i tried going through all the 'purge' stuff. took the fuel pump fuse out, tried to start the bike to run it out of fuel. never even started. since then, i've not messed with it. i just take the hose off at the quick disconnect. seldom lose any more than a drop of fuel.

course, when i've done it, it's always been at least overnight since the bike ran last.

I do the same thing. Wrap a rag around the fitting and remove it. Only a few drops of fuel will spill.

Provided it hasn't been pressurized for a while.

Even pressurized it only has about a teaspoon. No big deal.
