Default New oil cooler or get a dyno done?

I have $350 or so burning a hole in my pocket. I have a new pcIII and a map close to my setup from the powercommander site, runs pretty goodand I was thinking of having a map made for my bike at one of the places that does they dyno. But I also want an oil cooler.

If the map I am running is satisfactory for my ride, a dyno can wait I think.

m812-014 is the map I am running.

Whatcha all think?

Call Power Commander tech support and tell them what you have on your scoot. Thye will tell you the correct map. They didn't have the exact setup as mine but gave me a close one. I had it dyno'd and it is very close b ut a little on the rich side which is ok.

Buy the oil cooler first.

Any changes you make to the bike, you'll have to have it re-dyno'd.

Just a thought.

If your near 20K on it - go with gear driven cams. Get rid of those self-tensioners.

Ditto , the oil cooler is an investment in the longevity of your motor.

If your bike is running acceptably , hang off the the Dyno for now.

Oil cooler. The Jagg dropped my temps about 25 degrees.

Agreed. An oil cooler is a wonderful thing. Your engine will thank you...

How do your spark plugs look? If they indicate you're burning properly (and the bike is running smooth/well) then I guess the Dyno can go down on the priority list, but otherwise I'd do the Dyno-Tune if you don't have a good MAP for the bike.

I called powercommander and they suggested a better map, they told me I didnt need a dyno done (strange), so I opted for the oil cooler. I think I made the right choice. The bike runs like a champ. My oil temp/dip stick failed so I am not sure what the temp difference is yet. I hear the temp dipstick is on back order. Its either very popular or alot of them have failed.
