Wife's Bike Has Them Stumped
My wife had a SE stage 1 kit (mufflers, air cleaner assembly and filter, tuning module) installed on her 2015 Deluxe. I took it in for her and had it done. It ran fine all the way home. No real difference to me in sound or performance certainly considering what it cost but by god she was hell bent on getting rid of the "football". We finally got a chance to ride last weekend and headed up north of here for a day trip. About 30 miles out when making a turn it just cut off when the clutch was in for downshifting. She pulled off to the side and I did too. I went over and she said it just died. I checked it over and fired it right back up. Everything seemed normal. I suspected she hit the kill switch but she swore she did not.
After a brief stop we took off again and again when we got to a intersection 7-8 miles down the road and had to turn her bike died when the clutch was in and she was downshifting. It fired right back up and idled just fine. We decided to come back home. Back home I took her bike for a test ride. It did it to me too, not every time but most times when I was cruising then started to stop, it would idle down then cutoff. If I kept the throttle slightly cracked I could prevent it.
Saturday I rode it down to the shop and it was still doing it. I had to keep the throttle cracked or it would cut off. Funny it would fire right back up and sit and idle. It just would not idle when the clutch came in when coming to a stop. I figured it would be something simple. Maybe it was not tuned properly so I brought the module with me just in case. It is not fly by wire so maybe some sort of adjustment to the cables even though it is EFI. So I decided to wait it out. After 4 hours they came and told me that sure enough it ddi the same thing to them on a test ride and it was not throwing a code. He went on and on about what it could be but bottom line I had to leave it because they did not have a clue what was the cause.
Bike runs fine, will crank up and sit and idle but when you pull in the clutch to come to a stop and start downshifting from higher gears it will just shut off. Anyone ever have this happen? And seems funny that the bike has ran perfectly for 16K miles then has the issue first ride after the SE Stage 1 installation.

FIrst ride after the stage 1 kit was installed not counting the ride home. I don't believe in coincidences and it could be the clutch switch but it sure seems related to the stage 1 installation. Except that is took about 60 miles for it to start. If it were tuned wrong seems like it would have been bad right out of the gate.
