Bates Raide boots. Side zipper, lightweight and very comfy. I wear mine daily on the bike, at work and casually.

I have these and love them:

Amazon Amazon

They are VERY comfortable and built well at a good price. I know a lot of people do not like zippered boots but I love being able to tie my laces to my desired 'firmness', then being able to unzip and take them off quickly, and put them back on, zip them up and not having to tinker with the laces until they loosen up a bit. Which if you tie correctly really shouldn't be for a long time.

Stylmartin Legend with side zippers have been great boots, though warm in summer.

Been wearing the Bates 8" tactical sport boat for riding, really light and a good walking boot also. Wearing them for about 15 years when they were known as Enforcers.

Old habits die hard. I still wear engineer boots when riding. I have an old pair of steel toe Harley engineer boots from 1978 that I still wear when working in the yard and currently ride with a newer pair of Chippewa engineer boots. You can also stash something in the leg of engineer boots. I sometimes put my wallet in there, sometimes something else.

I just bought a pair of HD Tolman boots on sale for $100. It is my second pair of HD boots. I like them because of the zippers and comfort. They are made by Wolverine.
They are good quality, not great. Because of the contact type sole I know I’ll have to reglue them in 5 years or so. I use Shoe Goo for regluing. It gives a 2-3 more years of use. Be sure to try them on 1st. HD sizing over the years hasn’t been consistent.

I agree with Bates. I wear them on duty and riding. Comfortable to walk a lot in as well

Well since the AI bot bumped a 4yr old thread . . . Here is what I ride with after buying and returning 6 or 7 pairs.

Harley Hagerman zip boots. Most comfortable on and off the bike

Harley Haggerman
