Unhappy I swear, my Harleys are living, breathing beings...

So I bought a new-to-me Street Glide this weekend (Slyde) and it rode home flawlessly. Smooth, powerful, the cruise was glorious. I get it home and park it in the shop next to the Dyna (Grumble) and the next day, I smell gas. Turns out Slyde is leaking at the fuel disconnect as if to say "You didn't tell me you had another bike." No big deal, Slyde is out of commission until my EBay o-rings ship out from under 42" of snow in Illinois; ETA, next Thursday.

There's a PGR mission today, so I get dressed out, bundled up and get the flag loaded on Grumble and "rrrrruuuuuuuump ........ rrrrruuuuuuuump ........ tick, tick, tick, tick, tick." The battery's weak as if to day "Teach YOU to buy another bike." Never mind that it's 32° this morning, I can still see Grumble's lip pouched out saying "I thought I was your only bike." I swear, these machines have feelings.

My 52 Pan says to me.... “Tickle me just right and you can ride me, just not to fast and not to long.... and you Best Buy me nice shiney things”
My ‘017 eGlide says to me....” You know where all my buttons are... now start me up and hang on, because no matter how hard you try, you can’t keep up Old Man”.

I am NOT sure what they say to each other when I am not around, but with all the lube and liquids on the floor in the morning when I show up..... I think they are also lesbians.

I will take the occasional cranky motorcycle over a more frequent and cranky SO.

I had a conversation, sort of with my Street Glide last week. I had to end up digging up an 8" corrugated pipe under part of my yard due to the area being flooded since my neighbor decided it would be fun to shove a large rock into the drain, then gather as many leaves as he could find and let those go into the drain, followed by smaller stones. The drain is for the creek to have it flow under that section of my property, Anyway, it was a fairly nice day where I had planned on washing my bike and giving it a good once over detailing. But instead it was necessary to dig up my yard where I figured the pipe was and guessed where the stoppage might be. So I ended up getting covered with mud.

After I cut some holes in the drain and got the line clear, I put everything away. I looked over at my bike who was obviously laughing at my being covered with mud, and said, "Hey, don't laugh. I could have cleaned you up but instead I had to do this chit!" Yep, the laughing stopped! lol.
