Amazing how each thread like this turns into a "Boomer vs. Millennial" topic. Reminds me why I ride alone....
Remember how the older generation "didn't get it" with the stuff we thought was cool? Ever look at the younger generation with squinty eyes and wonder if anyone was really "in there"? Yeah, been happening for millennia, and YOU don't have the solution. Truth is, each generation gets what they want, whether good or bad. That big, hot ball (hint: sun) is going to come up over the horizon in about the same spot tomorrow and it'll be good to remember that it doesn't revolve around you/us, no matter how many times we've been around it.
Instead of a "Hardwire Plan", maybe the Moco should consider a "HardWARE Plan", and stop putting shitty bearings in their bikes, that won't last 5 years.
Just a thought. Harley should build a mini bike, and maybe skate boards to go with their bicycle. Maybe even a notorcross bike.. Grow new brand loyalty by attracting younger riders. My brothers and l started on mini bikes, then Kawasaki dirt bikes, which we then bought Kawasaki road bikes. Our father bought a Harley, each of us bought Harleys, some of us numerous Harleys. Get kids to ride and in order to do that kids need something to start out on..
I'm going to start a hashtag: #harleyshould, in order to capture all the free, brilliant advice Harley could be getting from the internet, but to everyone's amazement is apparently not getting it.
"HD's five-year strategy focuses on the firm’s core strengths." = We're going to double down on the strategy that has been failing us for the last decade.
Well maybe if Harley was open to some ideas from it's customer base, it may not be in the financial state it's currently in..Some things that may not be important to some are you others..Never hurts to be open to ideas and opinions..

The problem isn't not enough feedback from its customer base, the problem is that its customer base is aging out.
