HELP, I'm purchasing a new Harley
[sm=feedback.gif]I have been considering puchasing a Harley for quite some time now. I thought I had decided on a Heritage Softail Classic. After visiting many dealers in my area, I am torn between the Softail Custom, Dyna Wide Glide and the Heritage Softail Classic. I plan on riding the bike to and from work daily but I would also like to ride with my wife whenever possible. Some of the dealers said the Dynas have a better ride than the Softails. Others said the narrow front tire on the Dyna made it a poor handler. I have not riden since my early twenties (36 now). I would like to take advantage of the good deals now being offered on the 07's. I would appreciated any unbiased guidance that anyone could give me. I can't believe how many bikes Harley has to offer and how subtle the differences are between them. I'm leaning towards the Heritage Softail Classic but I'm not 100% yet. I need to be sure before I spend this much $$$$$. I like the sportier look of the Wide Glide and Softail Custom, but I'm not sure if they are the most practical choice.

hint,, your wife will catch the bug like crazy,,, if you buy a Dyna,, few years youll be buying a bagger.
I been there,,,,
so.... look at baggers,,,, they handel better than my dyna,smoother,allaround more better,, wife and I go all over, its awsome!

The Heritage may suit you better for 2-ups. The skinny front tires do lessen carving ability, but none of them are corner monsters anyway.
But it all comes down to what you want. If you can test ride them, do so.

If you're looking for unbiased I think maybe you've come to the wrong forum.
However if you will allow a little biased opion, I'd have to say I'm pretty darn happy with my Heritage Classic, Ilove the Classic look of this model.My wife loves to ridetwo upso the first thing we upgraded was the passenger seat, backrest and floorboards. She's had no complaints. I'll probably ultimatly upgrade to an Ultra someday, but I live in South Florida and can ride to work every day.For now the Heritage seems like a better all purpose compromise.
