Anyone got any ideas on how to remove surface rust on handle bars and forks/

I have always used neverdull.. You can get it at Lowes or Home Depot

Yup! Buy a can of Turtle Wax Chrome Polish and Rust Remover.Then just follow the directions. Will also remove where yer woman leaves shoe sole on yer pipes. That is better done when the pipes are still warm...Not hot!!!!Been usin it on all my scoots since '78!

Here's the problem with rust removal; once it's been removed you have an unprotected surface that will be a continual PITA from now on.You can put a clear coat on them once the rust is gone but if you don't stay on top of it, it will come back in spades. Best bet is to re-chrome or replace.

rust on chrome not good,rust converter then chrome touchup paint,or replace the part.

Naval jelly or Brasso... been using it since 64 and it still works.

I used naval jelly years ago I guess you can still get it. If it is a small spot clear fingernail polish works pretty good.

Honestly ...I would think about replacing them,least if it was my bike...but then again Id never let my bike get rust on it.
