Detachable all the way I have an 04 superglide and I really dont like the way the windshield looks so its only on when necisary I really like the look of a striped bike so I also got hte quick release sissy bar with luggage bags when needed and for the couple extra bucks its worth it.

Just my opinion

I had a QD on my FXD and my FLHR and liked them very much. They are easy to clean and you could change the look of the bike real quick.

I've got the QD on my Road King and I really like it. Easy on easy off. Don't worry about the forward movement of the W/S the pressure from thje wind keeps it nice and tight. I thought the same thing when I first took mine off. Joe

Only concern that I ever have with my quick release windshield is that it's took quick and easy to remove. They should have designed it with a locking mechinism.

Monty is it clear or the color ? i have been thinking along those lines of one of them i just dont know what style to get to put on my 05 super glide .or if i want to put a standard or a fats or slime a short there is so many styles .
Mine is the clear standard size. I like the look of the narrower windshield on the narrow glide front end on my FXRS.

Mrkicks I will double check but I'm pretty sure they make a locking mechanisim similar to the quick release sissy bar lock Ill check but it should be in the HD parts book.

I like the QD for cleaning the bike. It's always on when I ride.

I have the detachable(s) on my Heritage. I have 2 windshields; one I cut down way low I use when riding solo, and a standard height one I use when my wife rides with me (we found she really got tossed around behind the cut down windshield (oops)). I love being able to swap them out in an instant, not to mention being able to remove it quickly when cleaning. IMHO, detachable all the way!
