Just going by me you probably need a 19 or 21 in windshield. I have a 17 in Memphis Fats and I am looking through the top 2 inches slumped over a little. Sitting up straight I look over it. I have an 07 Superglide with a lowrider seat and Im 5ft 6in. Hope that helps.

Well, first thanks to those who gave advise on the wind shield. As to the question about why would I remove the baffles and sacrifice performance and "safety" .
I knew the performance would drop a little. Am I willing to loose a little bit of torque to have a better sounding bike ? Well, I'd say the obvious answer to that is ...YES. It's temporary. I have to work for a living. I don't have a large bank account like a lot of others on here do. When I can save up the beans for a set of pipes, or even a set of nice slip ons, I will put those on. Then I'll be much "safer" . Do I like setting off car alarms ? Damn right ! Do I like being just a bit obnoxious ? Sure do ! It's my God given right to do so. Just like it's your God given right to preach at me about acting the way I do. So, I'll see you on the road. I'll be the guy with the obnoxious sounding bike, setting off car alarms, merging "unsafely" onto the Free Way ! [sm=biker.gif] CAN YA HEAR ME NOW !!??

You said I was preaching to you. Maybe so. Here's some more then. Doesn't it say somewhere in that black book with all the preaching, to treat your neighboor like you want to be treated? THAT my friend is your God given duty. I've read that book for a lot of years now and nowhere does it say 'Thou shalt be obnoxious'.

I did the same thing to my 07 FXSTC last fall.&nbsp\\; Added a Cobra Fi2000r programmer and SE air breather.&nbsp\\; The performance gain was astonding.&nbsp\\; My son took out my VTX 1800 and I stayed right with it.&nbsp\\; Sounds great on acceleration with the added advantage that it is quiet at a steady cruising speed.

I've read it too, and I'll go out on a limb and say I've read it and continue to read it more than the average fella. As far as treating others the way you want to be treated....I would absolutely love to live in a neighborhood where the majority of people drove very loud Harleys. Heck, I'd even allow a few Yamahas, and Hondas. As far as our "God given duties", that's your words, not mine. I said we have God given RIGHTS. To live and act the way WE choose. The only person I have to be judged by is not a PERSON at all. My judge is God, and my personal advocate is his own SON, and he has already pardoned me. My name is in the book from before the foundation of the world. And if you would like to continue this we can skip on down to the P.R.O.D. where this type of discussion is welcome.
Can ya hear me now ?

It is not your God given RIGHT to set off my car alarm just because you like to be a little bit obnoxious. Sorry. it's just not. I am real glad you are my brother in Christ and alla that, but don't use that as an excuse to wake me up in the middle of the night, or make me think my car is being stolen when it's not.

Man, you really do need to calm down, take a deep breath and RELAX. I can only assume you are in Texas. I'm in Pennsylvania. Trust me your car alarm isn't going to go off because of me any time soon. You have got to realize though...the more people complain like this, the louder I like it. I'm 34 years old, I'm not a kid. I fully realize the impact of disturbing the peace. The way I see it, if the police aren't pulling me over, then I'm not too loud yet. I like my bike to sound like a V-twin, that is part of MY Harley experience. You, evidently want yours to sound like a sewing machine. Good for you. If that's what I wanted my bike to sound like, I would have bought a Triumph, or some other multi cylinder cruiser. Just curious...What exhaust system do you have on your bike ? [sm=smiley25.gif]

The more people complain about what you do the more you do it? You claim to realize the impact of disturbing the peace but then say if you aren't being arrested for it, you don't care if it adversely affects others? And yet you talk about your maturity level? You say you want your bike to sound like a V-Twin, again it IS a V-Twin! What you mean is, you want it to sound like a LOUD V-Twin. And because of my opinion on this. you feel I 'evidently' want my bike to sound like a sewing machine? Good thing you aren't an F.B.I. profiler. I have an 06 Street Bob with a stage 1 and Screamin Eagles II's. But I don't draw attention to myself by unnecessary revving, or purposely setting of car alarms or intentionally trying to be obnoxious, and I don't think anybody should. If that makes me some kind of preachy, old fart, fuddy duddy, do-gooder, so be it.

No, I'm not bragging about nothing. I have nothing to brag about. I just want you to realize that I am not some young kid who doesn't understand the implications of what is being said here. I own my own home, pay my own bills, and drive a motorcycle that is somewhat loud. If that causes someone freaking car alarm to go off, then BOO-Hoo ! If my neighbors don't like hearing me ride past their house once or twice a day, then BOO-Hoo ! I don't let what other people think affect what decisions I make. As long as someone isn't getting hurt by my decisions. This is America and I have the right to PURSUE happiness how ever I feel. So do you. I just can't stand being told that because my bike MIGHT set off some one's precious alarm on their BMW, or Mercedes, or what ever else they're driving that I'm infringing on their rights ! That's B.S. ! By owning a loud bike I am taking NOTHING away from you. I don't run to the police and cry to them because someone's bike sounds wimpy ! Therefore you, or...someone like you should give me the same courtesy. Live and let live. The more I live my life, the more I learn this. If I CHOOSE to ride with out a helmet and wreck and get brain damage that's MY life. I have to live with the consequences of that decision. No one else. My Harley with the baffles removed isn't any freakin' louder that yours with S.E. II's I guarantee it. I ride with guys that have the same pipes as you. Actually most of them say they wished they would have saved the money and done what I did. Again it's our own individual choices that we have to live with. I shouldn't have to determine my life style based off of what you or another FEELS. Cheers to you !
