RE: So, what's the deal with this Sturgis place?
When people say "Sturgis", it's a general term for a large area of the Black Hills. We only spent four hours in the town of Sturgis and that was enough for me. The rides around the area are the real attraction. Within a days ride, you can see Mount Rushmore, Custer State Park, Devil's Tower, the Crazy Horse memorial, the Badlands, Spearfish Canyon and the scenery between those places is awesome. Deadwood's just down the road and Yellowstone is a day's ride one way. If you want to party or see a band, they're just about everywhere. We saw ZZ Top and Buck Cherry in the same night at the Buffalo Chip. I hope that helps explain it...

The parties and babes might be a small part of the reason to go to Sturgis. \\; \\; \\; The real reason to got to Strugis is the riding. \\; Some of the best rides I have ever been on are in Wyoming and South Dakota. \\; I have been to Sturgis 17 times since 1983 and I find a new road everytime I go. \\; \\; Ride all day and party all night. \\; \\; Buffalo Chip Campground has some great parties and bands at night. \\;

 \\;IMO the black hills area is one of the best if not THE best place to ride in the country. As far as the rally goes, do yourself a favor and skip it.
