Rhonda, you sound like my wife. She does the same when it comes to riding on the back or riding her own.
Mine, too.
As for me, sometimes I just don't have the desire to get up earlier for the 10 extra minutes it takes for me to put the boots, jacket, gloves and helmet on. Other than that, I haven't lost the desire to ride.
Mama is the same way.. There are times she would rather leave her RoadKing home and jump onna back of My Custom with me..And I don't mind..It's nice ta be able to talk goin down the road..And even if nobody else is Honest here LOL.. Old Man, Nice Custom, Good Lookin lady onna back.. whats not ta Like??
In the middle of a storm the desire to be in a cage increases dramatically. However, EVERYTIME I am in my truck I wish I was riding. Maybe that is why my bike gets 15K+ a year and my beater truck is lucky if it gets 1000 miles a year.
Seriously though, my wife experienced the same thing. She would, at this point much rather ride with me than on her own bike. In fact, after a year of her not riding, we got rid of her bike. When the kids are a couple of years older she would like a new one, but right now she would rather spend time on her other hobbies (rock climbing and canoeing) than on the bike.

I hate to break it to you, but our cages have heat and air conditioning. I know that makes me a puzzy since the cars I had back in the 60's and early 70's didn't have air, and a VW bug I once had didn't even seem to have a real heater. At some point my brain completely disintegrated and I decided I like creature comforts.
To make things worse, even our house has automatic temperature control.
If the weather looks decent I'm on the bike. Otherwise, screw it.

Only time riding becomes less desirable is when I'm faced with a long ride home, late at night in a cold steady rain. One of the few time I wish I had driven the cage.
