Which unfortunately, like so much on the internet, is just a little misleading! If you follow Source 1 link, you will eventually find:

The Meriden factory closed its doors in early 1983. The cash had simply run out and liquidation followed along with the sale of the company assets. The Meriden site was bulldozed into rubble in ’84 and houses built. It seemed like the end of Triumph and, with it, the British motorcycle industry. But, fortunately, it wasn’t. Property developer and self-made millionaire John Bloor bought the Triumph name and a new, privately owned company - Triumph Motorcycles Limited - was born.
It goes on to explain what I previously described. There was no factory production between 1983 and 1990, although for 3 years a limited number were made by a Triumph specialist, under licence from John Bloor.

The new Bonnies are now made in Thailand. I had a 2002 Bonnie made in England and now have a 2007 Bonnie assembled in Thailand. The 2007 is screwed together better than my 2002 was. The company is still 100% owned in England, still has a big factory in England, all bikes are designed and engineered in England. The factory in Thailand is owned and managed 100% by Triumph and is being expanded in a big way.

Maybe it was the BSA. I know one of them were sold to Inja. The British Vertical Twins - never could tell em apart. The Norton was a step up but it was 750 when the others were 650.

That norton commando is a really sweet looking bike. That cafe inspired look is way cool. I would totally pick one of those up if the price was reasonable. Would love to have a Nightster and Commando next to eachother in the garage.
