Default Alarm question

I have an 08 SG with the audible alarm installed and I went to do work on it the other day and the alarm went off and I could not get it stopped. The manual said to pull the main fuse prior to starting the work I was doing and the alarm immediatly went off as soon as I pulled the fuse. Naturally I pushed it right back in but the alarm kept going off and I had a h$ll of a time getting it to stop. Not sure what I did to stop it but eventually it shut off and I went about my buisness without pulling the fuse. I fiddled with the ignition switch and key doing all kinds of manuvers and it did go off but I think it might of timed out or something cause I tried pulling the fuse again and the same thing happened. Anybody know how to stop the alarm from going off in this situation? Looked in the manual but could find nothing on this subject.......

You have to have the key fob close to the bike so the alarm is disarmed. As long as the fob is near by the alarm won't activate.

I had the same thing occur with my SG...

Tried everything too, then I decided to turn on the ignition switch and then turn it off...That worked....I had the FOB sitting on the seat when I pulled the fuse, so that theory is shot to hell!!!

That info is not in the owners manual.....Sitting in a closed garage with that siren blaring is no picnic!!!!

I agree...I was in a closed garage too and it was not purty with all the noise. I wasn't sure if the turning of the ignition switch did the trick or not ....I was in a panic to stop the fricken noise.

I don't mind the security system, only cars should "chirp" IMO
