Default FOB question

I’m pretty positive my 2013 street bob did not come with the alarm feature and the fob is not needed to start the bike. Is it normal for the bike to start without the fob? I’ve never owned a bike that used a key fob vice a key and everything I search for just seems to to talk about the alarm. Any help would be appreciated.

fob is part of the alarm/immobilizer system. no alarm, no fob.

I figured it out. I took the fob apart and searched the part number. The fob is for LoJack.

So so other than the steering lock there’s nothing from stopping somebody from hoping on the bike starting it up and taking off?

i just figured that out. The fob was throwing me off and then not actually having to insert a key into an ignition.

Did you get an owners manual? If not if you search for one on the web and I'm sure it will explain it to you.

I have the HD security system on my FXDL and have had aftermarket alarms on my sportbikes.

I really like them, I do wish the HD alarm had remote paging though. I like just walking up to my bike, flipping the ignition on and taking off.
