After having my R1 stolen in 3 minutes from my front door, I purchased the alarm pager and don't leave home without it. I don't hear about Harley's being stolen like sportbikes but for under $80 I thought it was a no-brainer.

the fob that the owner gave me was for LoJacks early warning if the bike is moving without the fob I’ll get an email/call to warn me. When I picked the bike up the guy gave me the fob and didn’t explain it or at least I didn’t hear him explain it. I had read how Harley’s use fobs and just assumed that the fob was used to start the bike similar to my push button car.

Can you explain to me how it works? The previous owner of my bike bought one and I have it but haven't bothered to figure out how it works haha. I suppose I could probably google it but I'm here and this is easier.

When the bike is moved, and the FOB is not present, the pager will beep and vibrate. I believe it goes up to 1/2 mile. If I park at a big store like Wall Mart, I can go anywhere in the store and it reaches. I parked in the parking garage at a hotel and my room was on the 13th floor and it reached. The pager blinks for 1 hour so you know you are in range then goes to sleep and stops blinking but will still buzz if the bike is moved. There is also a siren under the seat that will chirp when the bike is moved as a warning and if it continues to move the siren will go off. I believe the lights will also flash. The CR2450 battery lasts about 30 days, so I always have an extra one in my saddle bag and I biubou a 20 pack on Amazon for $10. I turn it off when I'm at home to conserve battery, allowing me to get several months of battery.
My only complaint is that I wish Harley would take the pager and integrate it into a fob so that I don't have to carry two devices with me. With it connected to my CVO fob/key combo it adds a lot of bulk in my pocket.

When it is on, if you press and hold until it vibrates it turns off the audible alert on the pager so it will only vibrate. Press and hold to turn it back on. Press and hold until it vibrates, then continue to hold until it beeps then it will turn off to conserve battery.

When you turn the bike off and the alarm activates, it sends a signal to the pager and it starts to flash so you know it is connected. I always make sure the pager is turned on before turning the bike off so that it gets the signal and gives you the flashing lights so you know it is working. If you turn the pager on after the bike was turned off you won't get the feedback that it is connected but I believe it will still page you if the bike is moved.

They also make a version (Part Number 91672-07) that is slightly different with a rechargable battery but I think the one that uses the replacement battery works better for me so that I can easily swap a new battery and not have to remember to charge it. The charger also isn't a standard USB cable so carrying around the charger is an inconvenience.

What do you do if the pager goes off saying somebody is riding off on your bike?

Hopefully you'll have enough time to drop everything and run to your bike before they can get it started or thrown into the back of a truck. If they ride off, you'll be hearing the pipes from a mile away. I'll tell you that if I had one on my R1 I'd probably still be riding it today, but then I wouldn't be a lucky LRS owner.
