I'm thinking an intermittent ground problem for that circuit. I'd have to look at the wiring diagram, but I'd be willing to bet they all share a common ground.

Thumbs up

A friend of mine had the same problem,it turned out to be metal filings on the speedometer pickup, where ever that is.It was a cheap fix.

Clean the speedo pickup. It is located on top of the tranny just in front of the starter. Access is from the right side.

I have had my speedo stop working several times. If it happens as I come to a light, the bike dies. It starts back up and all is good. I think it's a loose connection under the seat. Last night it happened, so I stuck my finger under the seat and moved wires and my 6th gear light came on and flashed a couple of times. I moved them again, and the engine died. After I coasted a stop, I moved them around again, restarted and went home. Today, all has been fine. I am taking it in next Friday for the 1000 mile check up and have it looked at. It is also hard to start. It feels like either the starter or the battery is too small for the 96" motor. Anyone have this problem, or does yours start nice and smooth first time?

It happens every once in awhile to me on my 07 EGlide Classic.... for a few years now . It keeps running fine. I just cycle the ignition off and on and its good to. I chalk it up to being some wacky bug in the ECM software.

another symptom of speedo pickup dirt is the bike dies at idle, turn signal cancel doesn't work, and cruise control does not work. Clean the speedo pickup!

I've experienced this problem on my EGC earlier this year. It ended up being a wire that was pulled a little tight under the fairing that became chaffed and would occasionally short out. Have you been under the fairing lately?
