Original motor and trans are the same in the bike world, because you do not know the qualifications of the person that changed the parts out. Does it add more value no, but to me it decreases value if it is not original. I would not go above $2500 for this one, and ask why it has been painted. IMO.

Thank you very much.
I will be going to see the bike tomorrow or the day after based on the seller's availability.

I'll get the VIN# and post it.

If it were mine there's no way I 'm letting it go for $2500.

If the owner has to sell, and all he's offered is 2500, maybe that's all there is to be had. Lots of deals right now, it's definately a buyers market. I like this bike for 2500, for much more, I would be looking for something newer....

Like the others...I was thinking a price of $3k max. Maybe less depending on condition.

The owner is firm on $3500. I think it's a little too high. I am no expert, but I am seeing better deals on Craigslist and eBay. If I were to get into the $3500 range, I might as well pay a little more to get a bone stock belt drive sportsret.

Thanks all. I'll keep looking.
I am pretty firm on buying a sportster tho

I just sold my 84 iron head with 50,000 miles on it for $3,500. It was in excellent shape though.
