First Iron Butt Ride
Congratulations!
I did my first one on my 2005 883C Sporty converted to a 1250 and I had a blast (except having to put oil in the thing at every gas stop). I remember some guy on a Goldwing before the ride complaining his cd player and gps wasn't working so it was gonna be a looong ride. hahaha
I did my second one on the Street Bob I have now.
Some of the guys I ride with are wanting to do a Bunburner 1500 mile ride in less than 36 hours so I'll probably be doing it on my Street Bob too.
These rides to me are fun and kind of addicting for some weird reason.

Pigs...
I'll be interested in hearing how the 1500 mile ride goes. I'm thinking an 800 mile day with some rest followed by a 700 mile ride might be the way to do this. Keep us posted. At this point I don't see myself doing another, but you know how that goes ... never say never. Good luck and ride safe.

man i am such a wuss. i am planning on going from atlanta to daytona for biketoberfest and i do not dig the long jogs on the interstate just hauling *** in a straight line. in fact, after about an hour there just isn't any "fun" in it for me. i just find myself wanting to hurry up and get where i am going. now a nice long jog on some secondary roads with some twisties and some scenery.... well, thats another thing altogether.
Congrats on your Iron Butt. I did one last Sat on my Street Bob. No windshield or backrest. Went with 6 other guys all on Ultras. Where is the challenge in that? Not sure. My left thumb is still a little tingly after a week. Went from Salt Lake to Reno and back. Had cold, very hot, wind, rain and everything in between. Only ate breakfast and dinner. Was a blast keeping up with those guys.
