Heard on a Milwaukee radio station that Harley will announce that they are cutting 150 positions at the Design Center within the next couple of days. That's about 1/4 of the workforce there! These are the folks that are coming up with future models, not building current models that they are having trouble moving. Things must be pretty dire if they are eliminating people that are working on the future.
Of course I can't confirm this rumor...but it was from a reputable talk show host. Time will tell...
I agree its unfortunate they may be laying off the folks that work on the future. But net income fell by 83% from the first quarter to second. Not a surprise there's more blood-letting.
