Default Question about mini-apes

The two bikes that I've had only had factory handlebars on them and I was curious about something. I was looking at the fat mini-apes in my Harley caralog and I was wondering about something. When I ride and it's windy, I like to lean into the wind to minimize some of the effect of the wind hitting me head on. When a person puts mini-apes on, wouldn't that take away the ability to lean into the wind and the wind would have more of an impact on the rider? If I read right, the mini-apes are only 10.5" tall. I was just looking at possible mods and I was wondering about it. I realize that looks are important on mods, but I also want safe riding. I was just curious, Thanks.

Default RE: Question about mini-apes

It's really going to depend on how they fit you. Some people might find that they can lean in and some people may not. You should probably find a friend or group member that has some and ask them or see if you can (nobody beat me) sit on their ride and see for yourself. I personally don't lean forward into the wind because it's really uncomfortable with forward controls... Hope you can find out.
