....... it's remarkable, all the adjustments and refinements that the MoCo comes up w/ every year, and you'll still hear the clueless sayiing that Harley's 'standing still' compared to other manufacturers.
........ just cuz 'the look' continues, doesn't mean that nothing else is happenin'
Well, the tourers all have standard what we now know as the SE compensator.
Why do you feel that H-D has made the $250-plus-labor SE Compensator as standard equipment? What issues with the '09 & 0'10 Touring series compelled this change?

The only real changes they make are either band-aid changes or changes that impact emissions. When other manufacturers are looking to give the customer more power the MoCo is putting band-aids on a tired platform. They also don't make changes unless customers get in an uproar, I'm not impressed with the 2011's.
Thanks Dawg. I always enjoy getting the new model year info from you, so I can go educate my local dealer. I think it makes them mad when I come in there and school them on the new model changes before they get it.
To be honest, these are not very significant changes. HD essentially carried over some of the upgraded parts from last year's (2010) SE touring bikes (SE Compensator) for example) to the full line. I'm not seeing very significant R&D investment here so much as trial and error of what worked in the SE line being carried to the rest of the standard models.
