I plan on changing my tank emblems. I know there must be a trick to it. What's the secret to getting the new ones lined up?

 

I'm also thinking about tank paint vice stickies. Anyone have good experiences with painters near Monterey?

 

My first, and only, suggestion is, DO NOT drink alchohol prior to applying the emblems. Of course, I don't have any...

What I have done in the past is line the emblem up without exposing the adhesive, then, while you hold the emblem in place, put some masking tape at points on the top and sides of the emblem to use as a guide. Then remove the tape and install the emblem. Works every time.

 

Thanks. My OCD is showing. I was worried about lining them up in the same place on each side. But I guess most of us don't look at both sides of the bike at the same time (except those wall-eye people) so as long as its close its ok.
