Mine doesn't come on if I am under heavy accelleration & lights up when I ease off on the throttle. Otherwise all it does is keep me from breaking my toe trying to find 7th gear....

Can't see it illuminated during daytime, but only use 6th when @ freeway speeds so doesn't really do anything for me either...

I still do that from time to time even with the stupid light ...
