Iwas wondering If anyone else has had this happen to them, my 6th gear light will not come on when I'm in 6th gear. Does anyone have a suggestion on what might be causing this, or if there is a fixI can do myself. Thanks for any info.
A light...go figure, I wouldn't mind one, often I find myself shifting up, because I can't remember if I'm in 6th or not. I bet those cagers think my bikes on the fritz becase I'm rolling down the road, let off the gas and try to shift up....but oops, I'm already there. A light would be kinda good I guess.
As far as one not working, it could be the bulb, or the sensor that detects 6th gear. Were ever the heck that thing is.
I know 2007 street bob has a six gear light and a clock !! i don't know about the other 2007 dyna's
Yep, my '07 Super Glide has a 6 gear light also. The light is a little "6" that pops up in the speedo when you shift into 6th gear. I don't see mine much (only been in 6th gear once) because I have to be going well over 90mph to use the gear. Any speed under 90mph and the bike just bogs down. I guess it's a nice feature by Harley but I can't see myself really needing it. I was riding yeasterday on the highway and I was in 5th gear the whole way at 80 plus mph. The bike was purring along at this speed in 5th gear.
The light is definitely a nice feature. Although I don't see mine much. Since you have to be going at least 60-65 to use 6th, and my daily commute is all surface streets. All motorcycles should have a top gear indicator. Can't help on the problem, sorry.
