What is the point of this thing? I know when I'm in 6th because I am exceeding the posted speed limit. How about a 1st gear light so I will quit trying to roll away from a stoplight in second. I get annoyed every time I do that, I know the bike is in first but the bike insists I didnt downshift as I stopped.
This was my biggest reason for buying the dakota digital speedo but as it turns out that the gear indicator doesnt function when stopped. So I suppose I will continue to be that guy who nearly stalls his bike at every third light
Some people try to go up another gear that they don't have - this just lets them know they are already there.
I've been known to do that even with the stupid light there! Maybe it's because I rarely even notice it.
There's another thread somewhere around here where it seems a goodly number of bike owners wish the light was a big neon job, or at least something really big and noticeable.
