Excuse me ... but by my count 4 actually answered your question .... To your question "should I just go in the corner and drink my soy latte?" Baseman, Wild Card and I answered in the affirmative ... Kiethhu suggested Xieds ....

And I want my bike loud so when somebodies 17yr old daughter is riding down the road texting her bffj, about her date with Jim. She can't miss my presence. Tell the EPA to put some muffs on the jets flying over my house. Sorry for the rant, my and my wifes safety first.

The Xieds richen the mixture...which increases emissions...so they are out. No real mods that will help without increasing emissions. Doesn't really matter...no emissions equipment is actually designed for cleaner air...it is designed to fool the equipment that the EPA uses to test vehicles...my favorite is the "air pump"...pump clean air in the exhaust pipe...and you get less emissions out the tailpipe ...no chit Sherlock. If you burn a gallon of gas you get a gallon of fumes out of the exhaust...so the only way to reduce emissions is to burn less gas. So leave your 10 MPG SUV at home and ride your bike more....problem solved or is that tree hugged?

A properly tuned bike with the right aftermarket exhaust will get better MPG than a stock bike with a restrictive exhaust and cat.
My stock bike gets 45-50 MPG on the high way compared to my trucks15-16 mpg. So it already environmental friendly!
