No wonder I'm having a tough time finding stolen parts at the swap meets.
I think stuff gets stolen off the bikes a lot more. I've had a few things ripped off my bike outside one business, so I stopped going there. Luckily there is more than one HD dealer in town.
I've been an insurance agent for 26 years and only remember one theft claim and it was a Harley. Two riders stopped at a motel for the night and when they got up the next morning their bikes were gone. They assumed they were rolled onto a flatbed truck and driven away.
Just ensure that your insurance covers theft. As hard as it is to sell a bike these days, if oyu're trying to sell, and it gets stolen, you'll probalby get more money back than you will in a sale...if you can get one.
