We're getting off topic again...

Mexico's worse off than we are, housing prices getting cheaper as the tourist industry dries up. Here's a nice, mostly Yanqui community that co-exists peacefully with the drug runners:

You can slide by the restrictions on Cuban travel by going to Managua, Nicaragua, and getting a temporary visa for Cuban travel. Unless they've stopped it recently, everyone pretends you aren't a Yanqui, and the Cubans don't care about our travel restrictions anyway. You can't earn money legally in either country, anyway. I've done some work in Mexico, but it was unpaid. The food and housing provided was worth it for a nice winter vacation.

Exactly. I rode Hondas until I could afford the bike I wanted.
Bought a living room set for $100 in 1980 at a yard sale when I first moved into my house.
New would have been nice, but I bought what I could afford instead of want I wanted.

There are plenty of affordable bikes out there. Get moving and find them.

https://www.hdforums.com/forum/motor...lotte-n-c.html is a nice bike for $6800.

I sold my 2004 Kawasaki Vulcan 750 for $2400, and it was in excellent condition. Not as cool as a Harley, but the guy who bought it is in the wind.

Good luck with your career choice. From what I have read on here, the mechanic schools aren't worth it, but I don't know that for a fact.

I see older dynas and softails going for as cheap as $5,000 in decent shape, older shovels for as little as $3500 (rough shape but fixable especially for a bike mechanic). Not sure how much cheaper you're looking for but you could get a sportster for $3000.

Dude, if you look you can find an older sporty in the 3 to 4k range. Or an older dyna in the 5k range. They're out there, just gotta be patient and keep looking.

And I can remember having to buy a dinette (table and chairs) ON CREDIT, back in the '60's! A man's gotta do what a man's gotta do.

It's not how much you make, it's how much you spend
