Default New grips question (Iso, Terminator, Avon)

I am looking to change out the stock grips to something more comfortable and stylish. I like the Kuryakyn Iso Grips, Kuryakyn Terminator Grips, and the Avon air cushion grips. I have noticed that those grips use a glue on style for the clutch side grip, while the Harley replacement grips are the type that locks in the switch housing.

Is there any issues is using a glue on style grip as apposed to the type that locks into the switch housing?

I've had ISO grips and changed to the Avon air cushion and they are great. Like them better that ISO. Clutch side uses glue strip and is not a problem

I wrap a layer of cloth sports grip on the grip, then spray the surface and inside of the grip with hair spray before I put it on. It ain't moving after the spray dried.

Kinda looking for other brands other than Kury, but they are the only one that has the palm rest available on both sides and looks good. So I'm staying with the ISO.

I like the ISO grips. No problem with the glue. If I need to remove the clutch side for any reason, I just heat up the grip with my heat gun and slide it off.

Wrap the bar in electrical tape then apply the glue inside the grip so it doesn't ooze out. If you ev have to take it off, the tape will slip and you can repeat the process. It's permanent as long as you want it to be.

Or....ProTaper MX pillow grips. Takes a little work but they go on tight fit, no glue, and dampen high rpm vibrations.

Thanks. Good to know the glue style is not a problem. Opens up some choices.

I've used Iso grips, Avon Air cushions, H-D rubber and steel, and currently, Kury Transformer grips on my my. To me, the Transformer grips are hands down the nicest, most comfy grips of that bunch. Grip glue no big deal as it secures it well yet can be snapped free with a bit of effort (with no damage) for removal..
